Idioms और Phrases क्या हैं?

अंग्रेजी विभिन्न expressions वाली एक आकर्षक भाषा है, जिसको आकर्षक ढंग से बोलने और लिखने के लिए Idioms और Phrases का प्रयोग किया जाता है. Idiom का अर्थ मुहावरे से होता  है, जो मानव अनुभवों के आधार पर प्रयोग होने लगते हैं. इसका अर्थ स्थिति के अनुसार होता है. वहीँ phrase का आशय शब्दों के छोटे समूह से है जो sentence को एक अर्थ प्रदान करते हैं. इसमें clause बनाने के लिए subject-verb pairing शामिल नहीं है और यह एक पूर्ण विचार को व्यक्त नहीं कर सकता है.

Usage: Let us play it by ear because no one has given us any clear guidelines. 

Be up with the lark
Meaning: To be out of your bed or be awake early in the morning.

Go for the jugular
Meaning: Be aggressive or unrepressed in making an attack. It means to criticize someone unkindly by talking about something that can hurt those most.
