1. Waiver [wey-ver] =अधित्यजन
Noun: Law. an intentional relinquishment of some right, interest, or the like; an express or written statement of such relinquishment.
Synonyms: postponement, remission, abandonment, abdication, disclaimer, refusal, rejection, relinquishment, renunciation, reservation, resignation, surrender, foregoing.
Antonyms: allowance, approval, sanction, acceptclaim.

Example: State rushes to get ordinance ready after Minister’s assurance.

2. Ordinance [awr-dn-uh ns] =-अध्यादेश
Noun: an authoritative rule or law; a decree or command; a public injunction or regulation; something believed to have been ordained, as by a deity or destiny.
Synonyms: authorization, canon, code, command, decree, dictum, direction, edict, enactment, fiat, mandate.
Antonyms: disorganizationm, lawlessness, veto.

Example: Sporadic violence mars Bengal civic polls.

3. Sporadic [spuh-rad-ik] =विकीर्ण
Adjective: appearing or happening at irregular intervals in time; occasional:
sporadic renewals of enthusiasm; appearing in scattered or isolated instances, as a disease; isolated, as a single instance of something; being or occurring apart from others.
Synonyms: desultory, fitful, infrequent, intermittent, irregular, isolated, occasional, random, rare, scattered, spotty, bits and pieces, few.
Antonyms: common, constant, even, frequent.

Example: But this dismissal is a long cry away from another cliché, that ‘history repeats itself’, whether as tragedy or farce, for other than being dismissed yet again, there is little of repetition of what has happened in Pakistan’s political history this time round.

4. Farce [fahrs] =स्वांग
Noun: a light, humorous play in which the plot depends upon a skillfully exploited situation rather than upon the development of character; humor of the type displayed in such works.
Verb: to season (a speech or composition), especially with witty material.
Synonyms: absurdity, burlesque, caricature, comedy, joke, mockery, parody, sham, skit, slapstick, travesty, buffoonery, camp, horseplay, interlude.
Antonyms: seriousness, solemnity, sobriety, tragedy.

Example: Even the cliché of his being ‘third time lucky’ when he was sworn in as Prime Minister in 2013 proved misplaced, and now Mr. Sharif has the ignoble honour of being the only Prime Minister of Pakistan who was elected three times to that office, and who was also thrice dismissed.

5. Ignoble [ig-noh-buh l] =अकुलीन
Adjective: of low character, aims, etc.; mean; base; of low grade or quality; inferior; not noble; of humble descent or rank.
Synonyms: abject, base, baseborn, coarse, common, contemptible, corrupt, craven, da, dly, degenerate, degraded, despicable.
Antonyms: dignified, grand, high, honorable.

Example: Pakistan’s 70 years of Independence have had an almost equal tenure of military dictatorships intermingled with civilian appointed and elected leaders. In simple numerical terms of the actual years between military dictatorships and civilian interregnums, the non-military rule, by 2011, had nudged ahead.

6. Intermingle [in-ter-ming-guh l] =मिलाना
Verb: to mingle, one with another; intermix.
Synonyms: interlace, interweave, amalgamate, associate, combine, commingle, commix, fuse, immingle, intermix, join, merge, mesh.
Antonyms: disconnect, disjoin, divide, divorce.

7. Interregnum [in-ter-reg-nuh m] =अंतर्काल
Noun: an interval of time between the close of a sovereign’s reign and the accession of his or her normal or legitimate successor; any period during which a state has no ruler or only a temporary executive; any period of freedom from the usual authority; any pause or interruption in continuity.
Synonyms: meantime, breach, break, breather, cutoff, downtime, gap, hiatus, interlude, interregnum, interruption, lacuna, layoff.
Antonyms: continuation, continuity, permanence.

Example: Rather than the undisputed supremacy of the military from 1958 to 2008, other institutions have emerged to challenge this hegemony.

8. Hegemony [hi-jem-uh-nee, hej-uh-moh-nee] =नायकत्व
Noun: leadership or predominant influence exercised by one nation over others, as in a confederation; leadership; predominance; aggression or expansionism by large nations in an effort to achieve world domination.
Synonym: authority, command, leadership, power, predominance.

Example: What is particularly pertinent is that following the new democratic turn in Pakistan’s politics in 2008, it has been the judiciary, and not Pakistan’s supposedly omnipotent military, which has dismissed the two longest serving Prime Ministers of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gilani of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in June 2012, and Mr. Sharif less than three weeks ago.

9. Pertinent [pur-tn-uh nt] =उचित
Adjective: pertaining or relating directly and significantly to the matter at hand; relevant.
Synonyms: admissible, applicable, appropriate, germane, opportune, related, ad rem, apposite, apropos, apt, connected, fit, fitting, kosher, legit, material.
Antonyms: improper, inapplicable, inappropriate, irrelevant.

10. Omnipotent [om-nip-uh-tuh nt] =सर्वशक्तिमान
Adjective: almighty or infinite in power, as God; having very great or unlimited authority or power.
Synonyms: almighty, divine, godlike, mighty, supreme, unlimited, unrestricted.
Antonyms: impotent, weak.
