Meaning/अर्थ: likely to have an unfortunate and inescapable outcome; ill-fated.

4.Disdain (verb)=तिरस्कार
Meaning/अर्थ: consider to be unworthy of one’s consideration.
Example/उदहारण: Disdaining the stimulating intellectual exercise of examining the collective self, we have swept the failings of our society under the metaphorical carpet.
5.Lull (verb)=शांत या सोने के लिए भेजना,आमतौर पर सुखदायक ध्वनियों के साथ
Meaning/अर्थ: calm or send to sleep, typically with soothing sounds or movements.
Example/उदाहरण: Lulled into complacency by meaningless assertions — ‘say with pride we are Hindu’, or a ‘New India’, or a ‘sanitised India’, or a ‘digital India’ — few people ask why we still practise caste discrimination, why we continue to be disgracefully hostile to religious minorities, or why we are indifferent to the plight of our own people.
6.Deplorable (adjective)=शोचनीय,मजबूत निंदा की योग्य; पूरी तरह अस्वीकार्य
Meaning/अर्थ: deserving strong condemnation; completely unacceptable.

7.Renaissance (noun)=पुनर्जागरण काल
Meaning1/अर्थ1: the revival of European art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th–16th centuries.
Meaning2/अर्थ2: the culture and style of art and architecture developed during the Renaissance.
Meaning3/अर्थ 3: a revival of or renewed interest in something.
Exampleउदाहरण: This was the beginning of the Indian Renaissance, and these questions escalated till the middle of the twentieth century. But no more.
But we follow our own star; indifferent to the deplorable lack of solidarity in our community.
8.Complicit (adjective)=सहभागिता, गैरकानूनी या नैतिक रूप से गलत गतिविधि में शामिल
Meaning/अर्थ: involved with others in an activity that is unlawful or morally wrong.
Example/उदाहरण: Today, Hindu society is complicit in massive crimes perpetrated against Dalits, Muslims, and women, because it is silent in the face of atrocities practised by vigilantes who single-handedly define what they consider ‘morality’, and who punish people merely on suspicion that they violate codes of Hinduism.
9.Masquerade (verb)=छद्म वेष,भेष बदलना
Meaning/अर्थ: pretend to be someone one is not.
synonyms/पर्यायवाची: pretend to be, pose as, pass oneself off as, impersonate, disguise oneself as, simulate, profess to be
Example/उदाहरण: Reports in our daily newspaper bring stories of horrific violence perpetrated by vigilantes masquerading as the keeper of the keys to the Hindu kingdom.
10.Culmination (noun)=पराकाष्ठा,समाप्ति
Meaning/अर्थ: the highest or climactic point of something, especially as attained after a long time.
Example/उदाहरण: The process has reached its natural culmination point, and now self-appointed censors force film-makers to follow ‘this’ and not ‘that’ script.
