Example/अर्थ: A mummy gets a new life, sans oxygen.
1. Sans [sanz; French sahn] =सिवाय
Preposition/विभक्ति: without.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: bare, barren, lacking, vacant, bereft, deficient, denuded, destitute, free from.
Antonym/विपरीतार्थी: full, complete.

Example/अर्थ: The encasing ends a four-year struggle to save one of six mummies in the country.
2. Encase [en-keys] =डिब्बे में बंद करना
Verb/क्रिया: to enclose in or as in a case
Synonyms/समानार्थी: attach, connect, cover, dress, handcuff, restrict, shackle, stick, strap, tether, tie up, unite, wrap, adhere, bandage, border.
Antonyms/विपरीतार्थी: disconnect, forget, lay bare, remove, separate.
Example/अर्थ: There will be no flexing of muscles; a solution will be reached through dialogue, says govt.
3. Flex [fleks] =मोड़ना
Verb/क्रिया: to bend, as a part of the body; to tighten (a muscle) by contraction; to bend.
Noun/संज्ञा: the act of flexing.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: lean, tighten, tilt, angle, contract, crook, curve, mold, ply, spring.
Antonyms/विपरीतार्थी: straighten, be stiff, extend.
Example/अर्थ: These issues arise at a time when economic conditions have toughened, factors Brexiteers say are unrelated to the exiting process, but which critics say were just some of the repercussions they had warned about all along.
4. Repercussion [ree-per-kuhsh-uh n, rep-er-] =प्रतिक्रिया
Noun/संज्ञा: an effect or result, often indirect or remote, of some event or action; the state of being driven back by a resisting body; a rebounding or recoil of something after impact.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: reaction, effect, fallout, impact, influence, reaction, reverberation, side effect.
Antonym/विपरीतार्थी: cause.
Example/अर्थ: The meeting came days after Congress vice-president, who met with the Chinese and Bhutanese envoys in Delhi had questioned PM Narendra Modi’s “silence” on the issue.
5. Envoy [en-voi, ahn-] =प्रतिनिधि,राजदूत
Noun/संज्ञा: a diplomatic agent; any accredited messenger or representative.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: delegate, diplomat, emissary, minister, representative, agent, ambassador, bearer, carrier, consul, courier, intermediary, internuncio.
Antonym/विपरीतार्थी: receiver.
Example/अर्थ: RJD sources told The Hindu: “Laluji has nurtured this alliance; he had even campaigned strenuously for JD(U) candidates in 2015.”
6. Alliance [uh-lahy-uh ns] =संधि
Noun/संज्ञा: the act of allying or state of being allied; a formal agreement or treaty between two or more nations to cooperate for specific purposes; a merging of efforts or interests by persons, families, states, or organizations.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: accord, affiliation, affinity, betrothal, bond, coalition, coherence, collaboration, collusion, combination, communion, compact.
Antonyms/विपरीतार्थी: antagonism, detachment, disagreement, disconnection, discord.
7. Strenuous [stren-yoo-uh s] =अति उत्साही
Adjective/विशेषण: characterized by vigorous exertion, as action, efforts, life, etc.; demanding or requiring vigorous exertion; laborious; vigorous, energetic, or zealously active.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: energetically, strongly, vigorously, zealously, industriously, laboriously.
Example/अर्थ: Ms. May had pegged the election around public support for her version of Brexit, which involved leaving the single market in order to satisfy public demand for border controls, as well as exiting the customs union in order for Britain to be able to negotiate tariff-free deals unrestrictedly with the rest of the world.
8. Peg [peg] =कील
Noun/संज्ञा: a pin of wood or other material driven or fitted into something, as to fasten parts together, to hang things on, to make fast a rope or string on, to stop a hole, or to mark some point.
Verb/क्रिया: to drive or insert a peg into; to fasten with or as with pegs; to mark with pegs; to strike or pierce with or as with a peg; to keep (the commodity price, exchange rate, etc.) at a set level, as by manipulation or law.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: fix, clinch, fasten, join, pin, secure, tighten.
Antonyms/विपरीतार्थी: detach, let go, loose, loosen, release, unfasten.

9. Referendum [ref-uh-ren-duh m] =जनमत संग्रह
Noun/संज्ञा: the principle or practice of referring measures proposed or passed by a legislative body, head of state, etc., to the vote of the electorate for approval or rejection; a measure thus referred; a vote on such a measure.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: election, poll, vote, mandate.
10. Burgeon [bur-juh n] =तेजी से बढ़ना
Verb/क्रिया: to grow or develop quickly; flourish; to begin to grow, as a bud; put forth buds, shoots, etc., as a plant.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: prosper, snowball, sprout, blossom, bud, expand, flower, grow, increase, mushroom, thrive.
Antonyms/विपरीतार्थी: decline, decrease, die, diminish, fade, lessen, lose, shrink, shrivel.
