Example/उदाहरण: In the not-too-distant past, all this was welcome because the ‘other’ was either a foreign power or an oligarch or a dictator.

1. Oligarch [ol-i-gahrk]=कुलीन
Noun/संज्ञा: one of the rulers in an oligarchy.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: autocrat, boss, chief, commander, despot, fascist, leader, tycoon, tyrant, absolutist, adviser, authoritarian.

Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: employee, follower, worker.

2. Dictator [dik-tey-ter, dik-tey-ter]=तानाशाह
Noun/संज्ञा: a person exercising absolute power, especially a ruler who has absolute, unrestricted control in a government without hereditary succession.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: autocrat, boss, chief, commander, despot, fascist, leader, tycoon, tyrant, absolutist, adviser, authoritarian.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: employee, follower, worker.

Example/उदाहरण: In these circumstances, nationalism had a positive, and liberating, effect. But in all these cases the common consciousness it built was founded on blood, gore, war, victory, defeat, humiliation and jubilation.

3. Liberate [lib-uh-reyt]=स्वाधीन करना
Verb/क्रिया: to set free, as from imprisonment or bondage; to free (a nation or area) from control by a foreign or oppressive government; to free (a group or individual) from social or economic constraints or discrimination, especially arising from traditional role expectations or bias.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: detach, emancipate, free, redeem, rescue, save, deliver.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: harm, hold, hurt, incarcerate, detain, imprison.

4. Gore [gawr, gohr]=तिकोना कपड़ा
Noun/संज्ञा: blood that is shed, especially when clotted; murder, bloodshed, violence, etc.
Synonyms: blood, carnage, slaughter.

5. Jubilation [joo-buh-ley-shuh n]=आनंदोत्सव
Noun/संज्ञा: a feeling of or the expression of joy or exultation; a joyful or festive celebration.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: happiness, joy, exultation, festivity, gladness, merriment.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: sadness, sorrow, unhappiness, woe.

Example/उदाहरण: It needs nationalism as a precondition, but only as a precondition.

6. Precondition [pree-kuh n-dish-uh n]=शर्त लगाना
Noun/संज्ञा: something that must come before or is necessary to a subsequent result; condition.
Verb/क्रिया: to subject (a person or thing) to a special treatment in preparation for a subsequent experience, process, test, etc.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: arrangement, essential, necessity, prerequisite, provision, qualification, requirement, requisite.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: nonessential.

Example/उदाहरण: It does not appeal, like nationalism does, to primordial ties of custom, myth, lore and tradition.

7. Primordial [prahy-mawr-dee-uh l]=मौलिक
Adjective/विशेषण: constituting a beginning; giving origin to something derived or developed; original; elementary.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: prehistoric, primal, primeval, primitive, pristine, basic, early, elemental.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: modern, new, last, latest.

8. Lore [lawr, lohr]=विद्या
Noun/संज्ञा: the body of knowledge, especially of a traditional, anecdotal, or popular nature, on a particular subject.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: adage, belief, custom, fable, folklore, knowledge, legend, mythology, superstition, tale, tradition.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: reality, truth, ignorance.

Example/उदाहरण: Whereas nationalism creates a unity but demonizes the other, citizenship sets out on the contrary principle of creating unity out of the spirit of fraternity where differences are embraced.

9. Demonize [dee-muh-nahyz]=खलनायक
Verb/क्रिया: to turn into a demon or make demonlike; to subject to the influence of demons.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: diabolize, criticize, demean, deprecate, diminish, disparage.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: canonize, celebrate, honor.

10. Fraternity [fruh-tur-ni-tee]=भ्रातृत्व
Noun/संज्ञा: a local or national organization of male students, primarily for social purposes, usually with secret initiation and rites and a name composed of two or three Greek letters; a group of persons associated by or as if by ties of brotherhood; any group or class of persons having common purposes, interests, etc.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: camaraderie, guild, sorority, affiliation, club, fellowship, frat, house, kinship.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: sisterhood, sorority.
