1. Binding [bahyn-ding]=अनिवार्य
Noun/संज्ञा: the act of fastening, securing, uniting, or the like; anything that binds.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: conclusive, irrevocable, mandatory, required, essential, imperative.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: optional, inessential, secondary, alterable, breakable, revocable.

2. Punitive [pyoo-ni-tiv]=दंडात्मक
Adjective/विशेषण: serving for, concerned with, or inflicting punishment.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: disciplinary, penal, punishing, retaliatory, vindictive, punitory.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: beneficial, rewarding.

Example/उदाहरण: M.P. govt. shunts out collectors.

3. Shunt [shuhnt]=पार्श्वपथ
Verb/क्रिया: to shove or turn (someone or something) aside or out of the way; to sidetrack; get rid of.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: avoid, deter, fend off, foil, forestall, halt.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: aid, allow, assist, help, support.

Example/उदाहरण: It is time to call a spade a spade: U.S. obduracy on climate change has ensured the world today is in the danger zone and will go critical soon.

4. Call a spade a spade=कुदाल को कुदाल ही बुलाओ
Idiom/मुहावरा: to call something by its real name; be candidly explicit; speak plainly or bluntly.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: characterize, construe, decide, delineate, describe, designate, detail.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: confuse, hesitate, hide, misrepresent, obscure, distort.

5. Obduracy [ob-doo-ruh-see, -dyoo-]=ढीठपन
Noun/संज्ञा: the state or quality of being obdurate (unmoved by persuasion, pity, or tender feelings; stubborn).
Synonyms/समानार्थी: bullheadedness, contumacy, doggedness, grimness, indomitability, inexorability, inexorableness, inflexibility.

Example/उदाहरण: All this because President Barack Obama didn’t want this agreement to be ratified by his Senate.

6. Ratify [rat-uh-fahy]=पुष्टि करना
Verb/क्रिया: to confirm by expressing consent, approval, or formal sanction; to confirm (something done or arranged by an agent or by representatives) by such action.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: approve, confirm, endorse, establish, okay, sign, uphold.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: deny, destroy, disagree, disapprove, disprove, invalidate.

Example/उदाहरण: But the fact is even if Ms. Clinton would have been the President, the U.S. would have done little to help solve the climate change conundrum.

7. Conundrum [kuh-nuhn-druh m]=प्रहेलिका
Noun/संज्ञा: a riddle, the answer to which involves a pun or play on words; anything that puzzles.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: enigma, mystery, riddle, brain-teaser, mystification, poser.

Example/उदाहरण: This is the crux of the issue: whether Democrats or Republicans, the U.S. doesn’t want to take “fair and equitable” share of responsibilities.

8. Crux [kruhks]=निचोड़
Noun/संज्ञा: a vital, basic, decisive, or pivotal point; a cross; something that torments by its puzzling nature; a perplexing difficulty.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: bottom line, core, essence, gist, nub, body, heart.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: exterior, outside, exteriority, nothing, nothingness, trivia.

Example/उदाहरण: The world — the U.S. and us — cannot combat climate change without changing the way we drive, build homes or consume goods.

9. Combat [verb kuh m-bat]=युद्ध
Verb/क्रिया: to fight or contend against; oppose vigorously.
Noun/संज्ञा: Military. active, armed fighting with enemy forces; a fight, struggle, or controversy, as between two persons, teams, or ideas.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: action, conflict, contest, encounter, engagement, fight, fray.
Antonyms/विलोमार्थी: agreement, calm, harmony, peace, surrender, accord.

Example/उदाहरण: Some commentators have alluded that other countries should step forward and share the burden left by the U.S.

10. Allude [uh-lood]=संकेत करना
Verb/क्रिया: to refer casually or indirectly; make an allusion; to contain a casual or indirect reference.
Synonyms/समानार्थी: advert, imply, insinuate, intimate, point, refer.
