1. Rap [rap]=मारना
Verb/क्रिया: to strike, especially with a quick, smart, or light blow; to utter sharply or vigorously.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: beat, blow, conk, crack, knock, lick, pat.
Antonyms/विलोम: approval, flattery, praise, silence.


Example/उदाहरण: Both Mr. Advani and Mr. Joshi are in the twilight of their political careers, wielding little power or influence in the BJP. Ms. Bharti is, however, a Union Minister, and the Narendra Modi government cannot pretend that the development has no bearing on her continuance in the Council of Ministers.

2. Twilight [twahy-lahyt]=धुँधला प्रकाश
Noun: the soft, diffused light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon, either from daybreak to sunrise or, more commonly, from sunset to nightfall; a terminal period, especially after full development, success, etc.; a state of uncertainty, vagueness, or gloom.
Adjective: of, relating to, or resembling twilight; dim; obscure.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: dusk, sunset, afterglow, decline, dimness, ebb, end.
Antonyms/विलोम: increase, rise, daybreak, sunrise.

3. Wield [weeld]=सँभालना
Verb/क्रिया: to exercise (power, authority, influence, etc.), as in ruling or dominating; to use (a weapon, instrument, etc.) effectively; handle or employ actively; govern.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: apply, brandish, employ, exert, handle, maintain, manipulate.
Antonyms/विलोम: ignore, misuse, neglect, cease, fail, idle.

4. Bearing [bair-ing]=व्यवहार
Noun: the manner in which one conducts or carries oneself, including posture and gestures; the act, capability, or period of producing or bringing forth; something that is produced; a crop.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: demeanor, manner, address, air, aspect, attitude.

Example/उदाहरण: Even so, the repeated strikes in the most fortified areas with mounting casualties demonstrate a steadily deteriorating security situation.

5. Fortify [fawr-tuh-fahy]=सशक्त करना
Verb/क्रिया: to protect or strengthen against attack; surround or provide with defensive military works; to make strong; impart strength or vigor to; to increase the effectiveness of, as by additional ingredients; to strengthen mentally or morally.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: brace, build up, buttress, consolidate, entrench, protect, reinforce.
Antonyms/विलोम: harm, hurt, injure, let down, let go, loosen.

6. Mount [mount]=आलंबन
Verb/क्रिया: to go up; climb; ascend; to get up on (a platform, a horse, etc.); to set or place at an elevation; to furnish with a horse or other animal for riding.
Noun: the act or a manner of mounting; a support, backing, setting, or the like, on or in which something is, or is to be, mounted or fixed.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: arise, escalate, go up, rise, soar, ascend, back.
Antonyms/विलोम: decrease, lessen, lower, descend, alight, decline.

7. Deteriorate [dih-teer-ee-uh-reyt]=विकृत होना
Verb/क्रिया: to make or become worse or inferior in character, quality, value, etc.; to disintegrate or wear away.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: crumble, decline, degrade, depreciate, disintegrate, ebb, fade, fail, fall apart.
Antonyms/विलोम: approve, compliment, elevate, grow, improve, increase, laud, praise.

Example/उदाहरण: Mr. Ghani is yet to begin delivering on his promise to streamline governance.

8. Streamline [streem-lahyn]=सुवीही रूप
Noun: a teardrop line of contour offering the least possible resistance to a current of air, water, etc.; the path of a particle that is flowing steadily and without turbulence in a fluid past an object.
Verb/क्रिया: to make streamlined.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: consolidate, integrate, rationalize, unify, accumulate, amalgamate, assemble, compact.
Antonyms/विलोम: divide, separate, disorder, disorganize, disperse, enlarge.

Example/उदाहरण: Do you call an ineffectual, hapless person or a schlemiel?


9. Hapless [hap-lis]=भाग्यहीन

Adjective: unlucky; luckless; unfortunate.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: unlucky, woeful, behind the eightball, cursed, hexed, ill-fated, ill-, red, infelicitous.
Antonyms/विलोम: happy, fortuitous, fortunate, lucky, well-off.

10. Schlemiel [shluh-meel]=मूर्ख
Noun: an awkward and unlucky person for whom things never turn out right.
Synonyms/पर्यायवाची: blockhead, boob, bungler, dimwit, dope, dork, dumbbell.
Antonyms/विलोम: brain, genius.
