1.Asylum (noun)
Meaning: the protection granted by a state to someone who has left their home country as a political refugee.
“she applied for asylum and was granted refugee status”
Meaning: an institution for the care of people who are mentally ill.
synonyms: psychiatric hospital, mental hospital, mental institution, mental asylum, institution;
Example- The provision in the new legislation prohibiting seclusion of patients, something that is frequently resorted to in asylums, and the general use of electro-convulsive therapy must be welcomed. 



2.Behest (noun)
Meaning: a person’s orders or command.
“they had assembled at his behest”
synonyms: instruction, bidding, request, requirement, wish, desire;
Example- By censoring films at the behest of a few, we embolden fringe groups to take the law into their hands

3.Robust (adjective)
Meaning: strong and healthy; vigorous.
“the Caplan family are a robust lot”
synonyms: strong, vigorous, sturdy, tough, powerful, powerfully built, solidly built, as strong as a horse/ox, muscular, sinewy, rugged, hardy, strapping, brawny, burly, husky;
Example- Undoubtedly, the film industry is not only a robust industry, it also plays a pivotal role in our nation.

4.Cacophony (noun)
Meaning: a harsh discordant mixture of sounds.
“a cacophony of deafening alarm bells”
synonyms: din, racket, noise, discord, dissonance, discordance, caterwauling, raucousness, screeching, jarring, stridency, grating, rasping
Example- but in the cacophony of arguments and counterarguments, no one has referred to the blueprint of the young nation: the Constitution of India. 

5.Contour (noun)
Meaning: an outline representing or bounding the shape or form of something.
“she traced the contours of his face with her finger”
synonyms: outline, shape, form;
Example- Since it is the Constitution which guarantees the fundamental right of freedom of speech and expression, and defines the contours of the said freedom, perhaps we should consider the interrelationship between the Constitution and 
cinema.

6.Unbridled (adjective)
Meaning: uncontrolled; unconstrained.
“a moment of unbridled ambition”
synonyms: unrestrained, unconstrained, uncontrolled, uninhibited, unrestricted, 
unchecked, uncurbed, rampant, runaway, irrepressible, unstoppable, uncontainable, 
unquenchable;
Example- However, the said freedom is not absolute one; it is not an unbridled horse. 

7.Benevolent (adjective)
Meaning: well-meaning and kindly.
“he was something of a benevolent despot”
synonyms: kind, kindly, kind-hearted, warm-hearted, tender-hearted, big-hearted, 
good-natured, good, gracious, tolerant, benign, compassionate, caring, sympathetic, considerate, 
Example- The state is permitted to act as a benevolent patriarch or as Big Brother of Orwell’s 1984. 

8.Tyranny (noun)
Meaning: cruel and oppressive government or rule.
“refugees fleeing tyranny and oppression”
synonyms: despotism, absolutism, absolute power, autocracy, dictatorship, undemocratic rule, reign of terror, totalitarianism, Fascism;
Example- By censoring films at the behest of a few, we strengthen the fringe groups, we arm them with the power to take the law into their own hands, and to undermine the rule of law. Thus, it becomes the tyranny of the minority over the rights of the majority.

9.Farcical (adjective)
Meaning: elating to or resembling farce, especially because of absurd or ridiculous aspects.
Example- “he considered the whole idea farcical”
synonyms: ridiculous, preposterous, ludicrous, absurd, laughable, risible, nonsensical; 

10.Proscribe (verb)
Meaning: forbid, especially by law.
“strikes remained proscribed in the armed forces”
synonyms: forbid, prohibit, ban, bar, disallow, rule out, embargo, veto, make illegal, interdict, outlaw, taboo
Example- For the proscribed films are readily available on the Internet. Such bans thus motivate people to break the law and to dilute the rule of law.
